Meet Our Creative Visionary Leader of Savor and Garnish
At the heart of Savor and Garnish is Amanda, our Creative Visionary Leader. With over a decade of experience as a dedicated gardener, Amanda’s roots in cultivating the earth run deep. From the tender age of two, she spent her days exploring her family’s gardens, where the sweet tang of strawberries, the tartness of rhubarb, and the adventure of blackberry picking became cherished memories. It was here that her love for fresh, homegrown ingredients was first planted.
Amanda’s passion for food began early, blossoming at the moment she laid eyes on her first Easy-Bake Oven. It was love at first sight, sparking a lifelong journey of cooking, experimenting, and creating dishes that bring people together. Over the years, she’s nurtured this passion alongside a successful career in corporate and nonprofit work, where she honed her skills in leadership and collaboration.
However, it was a pivotal health journey that led Amanda to rediscover the profound importance of food justice and garden-to-table living. This experience deepened her understanding of how access to fresh, nutritious food is not just a privilege but a right. It inspired her to channel her talents into a project that blends her love for gardening, cooking, and community.
One of Amanda’s greatest obsessions is with herbs and their remarkable benefits—both for flavor and wellness. She firmly believes that garnishing your plate with fresh herbs isn’t just a finishing touch; it’s a way to infuse every dish with vibrancy, health, and a connection to nature. Among her favorites is arugula, which she lovingly calls her "green muse." Its peppery bite perfectly embodies her approach to cooking: bold, fresh, and unapologetically flavorful.
